Psychedelic Pholk Psongs

There's no pretense about Psychedelic Pholk Songs. It is what it is -- an aging hippie playing songs influenced by his life and times in tie-dye. Though upfront, honest and rich in ingenuity, it gives off a spark when it could so easily have burst into flames. Brian Gladstone's fingerpicking makes his guitar ring out beautifully, and his comical lyrics bring smiles to one's lips -- especially in his faux homage to Mel Lastman in Mega City Mel. However, the album dips ever so slightly into the bad arena of camp, if only momentarily, somewhat spoiling the overall experience.
