Mega City Mel
By Brian Gladstone
Who’s that bad boy we all know? He makes the army shovel snow Nobody but Megacity Mel
Back in 1956 Who sold a fridge to Old St. Nick? Nobody but Megacity Mel
Every year as I recall He makes a speech at city hall Watch some fireworks drink some beer They ring Mel’s Bells for all to hear
He got tough on squeegee kids He’s head of our Olympic bid Nobody but Megacity Mel
Every night he’s on the news He’s not too tall in platform shoes When we clean our dinner plates He exports garbage to the States
He raises taxes and complains The council’s really short on brains Nobody but Megacity Mel.
Who’s that bad boy we all know? I watch his cable TV show Nobody but Megacity Mel
He drives his limo everywhere And parks it in Mel Lastman square His budget cuts are never lame And everybody is insane
Who puts trash in little sacks? And leaves in on the railway tracks Nobody but Megacity Mel
Who leaves moose’s on the street And shoes their tiny little feet Nobody but Megacity Mel
Every year as I recall He makes a speech at city hall Watch some fireworks drink some beer They ring Mel’s Bells for all to hear
Rumor has it don’t like pork On the map he put North York Nobody but Megacity Mel
In court he fights paternity He’s been the mayor eternally Nobody but Megacity Mel
He drives his limo everywhere And parks it in Mel Lastman square His budget cuts are never lame And everybody is insane
Who’s that bad boy we all know? He makes the army shovel snow Nobody but Megacity Mel
Back in 1956 Who sold a fridge to Old St. Nick? Nobody but Megacity Mel
